MATTHEWS – Dozens of costumed children and their parents celebrated Halloween a little early at Children’s Lighthouse Learning Center’s annual fall festival.
The event took place Oct. 27 at the early education center on Monroe Road and included Halloween-themed games, music, a photo area and face painting. There was also plenty of candy, popcorn, candy apples and other treats.
Director Claire Autry said the center, which serves 135 kids from 6 months to 12 years old, hosts the event to give families an opportunity to socialize. She said parents like the festival, but the kids always seem to enjoy it the most.
“Even this morning they were excited and talking about it. Maybe it’s just for the candy, I don’t know,” Autry said, laughing.
