CHARLOTTE – N.C. Department of Transportation contract crews will trim trees and vegetation along Independence Boulevard, starting Nov. 5.
Crews will start work on the westbound side near the Matthews-Mint Hill Road interchange, progressing west toward Village Lake Drive. A lane closure will be in place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day, so workers can safely cut foliage.
When work shifts to U.S. 74 East, lane closures will be scheduled from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. to avoid heavier rush hour traffic.
The work will take most of the month to complete, weather permitting.
