MINT HILL – The Queen’s Grant boys track and field team got three individual gold medal performances to take fourth at the NCHSAA Class 1A Midwest Regional, which concluded May 12 at North Stokes High School in Danbury.
Lucas Brown won the 1,600-meter run (4 minutes, 36.51 seconds) and was second in the 3,200 (10:10.47). Jakob Goodman won the pole vault (12 feet, 06.00 inches) and finished fifth in the 110 hurdles (17.10 seconds) and Toris Saifele took gold in the triple jump (42-05.25).
Marcus McMurray finished second in the 100 (11.23) and was sixth in the 200 (23.88 seconds).
Adrienne Dobbins placed third in the long jump (16-03.50) and was third in the triple jump (34-08.50) to pace the girls, who also got a scoring performance from Victoria Harris, who was sixth in the 200 (28.07).
Overall, the Stallion boys were fourth with 49 points while the girls tied for 12th with 13 points.
