CHARLOTTE – The Charlotte Independence received forward Niki Jackson on loan from the Colorado Rapids.
The Rapids retain the right to recall Jackson at any point during the remainder of the MLS season.
In his rookie MLS campaign, Jackson, 23, scored three goals and logged 429 minutes played in 15 appearances. The Colorado Rapids drafted him 73rd overall in the 2018 SuperDraft.
“He’s a player that is going to add a lot of value,” coach Jim McGuinness said. “We believe he’s young and strong and his capacity to hold the ball and connect with other players is tremendous. He’s quick so he can run in behind defenses and will probably give us a focal point in the center forward position and that will give our attack better depth.”
