CHARLOTTE – Autobell Car Wash presented 136 of its team members in the Carolinas, Virginia, Georgia and Maryland with college scholarships totaling $169,250 for the 2019-20 year.
Recipients in Matthews include: Jared Diegelman (Central Piedmont Community College), William Eckert (The University of Mississippi), Landin Mills (Central Piedmont Community College), William Rast (Appalachian State University) and Brandon Ward (UNC-Chapel Hill).
Autobell has awarded more than $1.6 million in scholarships since its inception. The program is open to Autobell employees with the company for 12 months.
The selection process considers each student’s academic accomplishments, extracurricular activities, civic engagement and letters from references. The application includes an essay about an educational or creative aspect of their employment.
“The Autobell Scholarship Program gives us an opportunity to encourage the pursuit of higher education for our employees while rewarding them for their hard work and dedication,” said Katie Sens, human resources manager for Autobell.
