CHARLOTTE – Beginning Oct. 1, outstanding claims with Medic that are older than 120 days from the date of service will be referred to the Office of the Tax Collector to initiate advanced tax collection methods, including garnishment.
This will result in additional fees associated with the garnishment, which debtors will be responsible for paying.
State law permits delinquent Medic claims to be collected using the same enforcement actions as delinquent taxes.
Individuals with unpaid Medic claims are encouraged to pay promptly to avoid being garnished. Payments can be made by visiting www.Medic911.com/billing-questions/payments-options, mailing the payment to PO Box 741033, Atlanta, GA 30374 or contacting Medic at 888-363-2723.
Call 980-314-4450 or email www.TaxMedic@MeckNC.gov for details.
