AJ Tolber, Charlotte Latin DT/C
Profile: 5-foot-10, 205 pounds
On film: Tolber plays much bigger than he appears and has a knack for getting home to the quarterback or grounding ball carriers behind the line of scrimmage.
Andrew Stark: You are going to play important roles on both lines again this season. How do you prepare for the pounding of the regular season?
AJ Tolber: We’re going out there every day and working hard in the summer to get better. That’s what drives us.
AS: What are some of your goals for your senior season?
AT: As a team, I want to make a future for the Charlotte Latin football program after we leave. So this year is important and especially so as a senior. I want to win a state championship for this team and build that feeling in the school. That’s what I’m excited about.
AS: You’re not the biggest guy to be the dominating lineman that you are. What is your mentality when you’re out there?
AT: I’m not scared of anyone bigger than me. That’s never been a fear of mine, so I can play with those guys.
AS: You mentioned leading this team to a title. The talent is there to win the Division II title, but what do you think needs to happen to make it successful?
AT: We need to get better every day and get better every week. It’s step-by-step every day and that’s how we’ll get better.
