2024 Matthews-Mint Hill Munch Madness | Thirsty 32 voting

MATTHEWS –Six of the 32 first-round matches of 2024 Munch Madness resulted in a lower seeding winning.

The Greater Matthews region saw the most upsets with three. Those were won by No. 9 Cantina Louie, No. 12 Hibachi Buffet Sushi & Grill and No. 14 Metro Diner. Other upsets were pulled off by No. 13 seeds El Valle Mexican (Mint Hill), El Valle (Downtown Matthews) and  Roppongi Ramen Bar (Monroe Road).

The second round has some interesting matches. In Mint Hill, 2023 Munch Madness champion Big Guy’s Pizza takes on 2020 and 2021 Munch Madness champion The Hill Bar & Grill. In Downtown Matthews, we have a showdown between fine dining French food at Santé and the barbecue and beer concept at Mac's Speed Shop.

• Mint Hill: Big Guy’s Pizza, Jake’s Good Eats, Dunwellz Custom Kitchen and Pour House, Big Al’s Pub & Grubberia, Sunrise Restaurant, Vintner’s Hill and The Hill Bar & Grill. 

• Monroe Road: New Zealand Cafe, Community Culinary School,  Mi Pueblo Mexican Grill, Royal Biryani, Bé-Em Asian Kitchen, Rios Brazilian Steakhouse, Juliana Pizza and Roppongi Ramen Bar.
