Mario’s Italian Restaurant and The Trail House have advanced to the last match of Union County Weekly’s Munch Madness.
Foodies can place their votes for the championship through Monday, April 22.
Mario’s Italian Restaurant charged to the finals by defeating Waxhaw champion Mary O’Neill’s Irish Pub. The Italian restaurant claimed the Stallings region title of the tournament with wins over the likes of No. 1 Bisonte Pizza in the Edible 8, No. 3 Moochies Tavern in the Savory 16, No. 15 Mama’s Italian Restaurant & Bar in the Thirsty 32 and No. 10 Phat Daddy’s Cafe in the opening round. Mario’s Italian Restaurant is located at 2945 Matthews-Weddington Road.
The Trail House topped Monroe region champion Main Street Bistro to advance to the finals. The neighborhood restaurant and bar concept won the Indian Trial region with victories over No. 1 Mia Famiglia Pizzeria in the Edible 8, No. 14 Chokh Di Noodle House in the Savory 16, No. 10 Sun Valley Cafe in the Thirsty 32 and No. 15 La Unica in the first round. The Trail HOuse is located at 6751 Old Monroe Road.
